Poppies on Sale Here Saturday for Poppy Day
The American Legion Auxiliary will distribute memorial poppies in Washington on Poppy Day May 26. Proceeds fund rehabilitation for disabled veterans and aid children of the fallen and disabled. Poppies are free with any donation, from pennies to dollars, as citizens wear crimson badges to honor veterans of both wars.

Pump Restores Service at City Well After Repairs
Supt. P L Jordan reports the main city well pump is back in commission after a month of disuse. The pump was pulled for inspection and repairs, casings removed April 19, and ten of 26 eight foot sections renewed. Repairs included bearing replacements and repainting. the 1817 foot well had not been pulled since last year. Mr and Mrs Frank McCoy of Chapin are visiting Crawfordsville relatives this week.

Suicide in North Marion man 79 after despondency
Frank Leffler aged 79 died by his own hand at his North Marion avenue home. He severed an artery in his wrist with a pocket knife, after worry over ill health. Coronor Kyle ruled suicide. Marner Memorial Service Planned at Wellman Methodist
