Washington May 19 The senate spent most of the session debating amendments to the tariff bill and rejected Stone’s proposal to cut the Dingley rate on razors. Negro dies of wounds in Council Bluffs gun duel
Ike Taylor the Negro who was gravely wounded in a pistol duel with officers a week earlier died from fifteen intestinal perforations a punctured bladder and other injuries from two gunshot wounds. Patrolman Horner wounded in the duel is recovering at the hospital.

In St. Petersburg on May 19, Lieutenant General Anatole M. Stoessel and Rear Admiral Nebogatoff were released from confinement at the fortress of St Peter and St. Paul by order of Emperor Nicholas.
