Mt. Pleasant reports Frank Gar vie says Tippecanoe trustees approved a post camp on Elmer Scott's land about a mile from Rome for smallpox patients. A colored patient was moved to the camp mid Saturday night, with two caretakers already there. One patient was moved by wagon with a lantern guided by Gar vie. Convict and Wife Remarry After Release
Joliet May 17 Carl Hartwig released from prison on Monday married his former wife again. Hartwig and wife were previously charged with the 1891 murder of Charles Neuman. Hartwig sentenced to fourteen years, wife divorced then remarried a man named Weier who abused her. Hartwig secured a license to wed and was remarried the same day. In Fort Wayne Louise Pfleiderer, 23, was found dead in the Maumee river after missing since Thursday. She had been despondent and planned death, engaged to a German businessman.
