C Lawrence Rutherford 43, president National Coal Co of Oskaloosa Iowa, died of injuries from a taxi strip collision at Tulsa Municipal Airport. Passenger Lloyd Bond 32 remained critical. pilot Horace R Carman was unharmed. Rutherford and Bond were thrown clear as both crafts collided and wrecked.

Kalona Resident Frank Swartzendruber Dies at 51
Frank Swartzendruber, 51, died this morning at Mercy hospital Iowa City after a heart attack. He was born July 4, 1895, and was a Kalona native, a radio repairman and musician.
