Iowa City Man Sentenced for Second DWI Conviction
Robert Wingler, 22, of Iowa City, found guilty a second time of driving while intoxicated. District Judge H. D. Evans sentenced him to one year in Fort Madison state penitentiary. Arrested January 16, he was on parole from Anamosa after serving two and a half years of an eight year term for manslaughter while intoxicated.

Two Men Drown In Mississippi River Near Davenport
Albert Level 32 of East Moline and Earl Cox 33 of Hampton Illinois drowned when a row boat with Roy Coon 32 capsized two miles south of Pleasant Valley in the Mississippi River. Coon clung to the boat for an hour and reached shore safely. The three men had rowed up river from Hampton to Watertown Illinois.
