The order requires every landowner and possessor in Washington County to destroy noxious weeds by dates in 1966 and to prevent seed production. It sets grouped deadlines for various weeds, mandates a five year destruction or control program, and allows the Weed Commissioner to act if owners fail to comply with costs charged against the land. The County Auditor is to publish notice of the order in official county newspapers.

Crawfordsville men win levee repair contract bid
Crawfordsville Iowa contractors ROCK ISLAND Ray Schultz and Wendell Wilson bid 3250 to the Rock Island District Corps of Engineers for leasing three crawler tractors to repair Louisa County Levee District No 14 damaged by an ice jam in February 1966. Another bid 3599.55 came from Kemp Construction. Repairs cover a 100 foot break and about 1000 feet of eroded levee near Highway 61. Work starts May 23 and must finish by June 30 1966 with two bulldozer equipped tractors and one bulldozer only tractor plus operators.
