Ambrose Everette Cunningham a longtime Washington banker businessman and civic leader died early May 12 1928 at the East Main Street home after a prolonged illness He was born August 15 1868 in Newburn Indiana came to Washington with his parents at age twelve and joined his father in a grocery hardware business He served as director of the Washington County Savings Bank later the Commercial Savings Bank and held posts in the Washington City Business Men's Association and the Commercial club He was married to Nellie De Witt and survived by his wife and daughter Florence with a son Marjorie having died in 1927 Florence returned home to care for him during his final weeks.
