In 1925 the consolidated Iowa dairy and food department exceeded prior systems with 172712 inspections led by R. G. Clark and under B. O. Brownell. The earlier un Consolidated system in 1928 logged 5588 inspections with 75 inspectors, now 82 under consolidation.

Consolidation Proposal for Iowa County Farms Urges Savings

May 11 Des Moines reports a plan to merge all Iowa county poor farms into one institution. About 2,000 inmates would join the Glenwood home for the feeble minded, with 99 men and 99 women currently in charge of county homes. Officials argue heating and operating 99 buildings could be cut, saving hundreds of thousands of dollars, while state supervision remains via the Board of Control for the insane.

Efficiency in seed testing rises in Iowa inspections
