Two hundred Washington youths will participate in the annual indoor circus at the Y M C A auditorium on April 13 and 14. Elwood W. Detrick, the Y physical director, leads preparations. Admission is 25 and 35 cents, with proceeds aiding the physical training department. Acts include a fancy drill, Indian club drill, animal acts, tumbling nets, pyramids and various drills led by named instructors.

World War veteran fatally shot in Marshalltown hold up
Marshalltown May 10 A world war veteran Drew Scotty Stenhouse died at a local hospital from wounds after a midnight highway hold up north of the city. He and his wife and Leland Nolta were ambushed by two men from a small coupe. Stenhouse was shot in the stomach and leg when he resisted surrender. The robbers allegedly took about eight dollars from Stenhouse and sixty to seventy dollars from Nolta.

First Run From New Fire Station Proves Efficient
