De Molays to District Meet in Davenport
Amos chapter of the order of De Molay for boys expects at least twenty delegates to the district convention in Davenport on Thursday and Friday. London May 9 Britain accepted the U S proposal for a tariff truce until the opening of the world economic conference. Prime Minister MacDonald warned debt differences must be resolved before the conference opens. The move is seen as a pause to stabilize tariffs and benefit world commerce. Attends State Medical Society Meeting in Des Moines

High School and Junior College Band Concert Opens Music Week
Tonight the high school and junior college music program present a band concert in the high school auditorium to kick off Music Week May 7 to 13. The program features Little Symphony orchestra, college women’s trio, high school sextet, boys’ quartet, and girls’ glee club, free to the public with no admission. Thursday afternoon includes junior high and ward school pupils performing selections in the high school auditorium.

Rath moved from city jail to county jail amid meningitis precautions
Henry Rath facing charges of shooting his wife was transferred to the county jail this morning with strict anti infection measures. A meningitis quarantine at the Bath home remained in place for four year old Duane Murdock, whose illness prompted the health unit to isolate Rath. A negative culture ruled him not a carrier. finger prints and a photo were planned at the sheriff's office.

Riverside man sentenced for maintaining a nuisance
Judge Frank Bechly sentenced Glen Kallaus of Riverside to a $300 fine and costs and six months in the county jail for maintaining a nuisance. The jail term was suspended on good behavior, contingent on payment of fines, with parole to A. E. Baldride.
