Three Youths Admit Two Bank Robberies
Three youths in the Chicago area face bank theft charges after admitting two robberies that yielded more than 5000 in cash and checks. The suspects are John Patrick McMahon 20 of Chicago Richard Blecha 19 of Berwyn Hill and Albert Mario Stella 20 of Cicero. Stella used his proceeds to buy a house for his bride. McMahon was a Fenwick high school swimming star and Blecha played football and basketball at Loyola. Stella attended Fenwick and Morton high schools.

UN Armies Make Slight Gains Near Seoul and Along East Coast
Allied troops advanced about one mile on the western Korean front and pushed 12 miles toward the 38th parallel as South Korean forces reached 18 miles northwest of Seoul with help from warplanes and artillery. Kouma Seeks Return to Korea After Medal Honor
Congressional Medal of Honor winner Set. Ernest Kouma said he hopes to return to Korea soon. The 22 year old farmer received a hero’s welcome in Dwight Nebraska after being credited with killing many Chinese communists at the Naktong river and withstanding 500 enemy fighters. He plans to go to Washington to receive the medal from President Truman.
