Roof Fire at Barr Home Causes Minor Damage

Child Dies of Rabies Near Ainsworth
A four year old girl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Gregg of Danville Iowa, died near Ainsworth while en route to Iowa City for rabies treatment. The father says the four children were bitten three weeks earlier by a dog owned by a traveling tourist passing through the area. Burial planned in Danville.

P M Powelson Drowns In Mississippi River
The body of P M Powelson of Washington was found Sunday in the Mississippi River near Montpelier between Muscatine and Davenport. An inquest ruled accidental drowning and funeral services are set for Tuesday at the L A Jones funeral home with burial in Elm Grove cemetery. Powelson, born September 24 1869, lived in Washington since 1907 and was married to Stacie Putman. he leaves a brother H D Powelson.
