A warrant is out for Edward S. Bingham of Montgomery on charges of attempting to blackmail Geo. St. Brown and Montgomery County citizens. He allegedly sent threatening letters demanding 2,500 under threat of destroying the town with fire and dynamite. Bingham is described as a prominent young man.

Marriage clash ends in fatal shooting in Decatur

Will McNeil of McNeil and Horrall druggists is fatally shot by Edward McCool who surrendered at police headquarters after the attack. McCool, connected with a correspondence school and recently married, waited at the home of J. M. Scribner and fired through McNeil who sought refuge there. Mrs McCool is visiting Chicago.
