Arthur Lambert, Keota Native, Passes at 76
Arthur Lambert 76, of 521 West Madison Street, died this morning after years of poor health following a stroke. A Washington County native, he was a WWI veteran, farmer and later blacksmith. Funeral Friday at 2 p.m. Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Peterson, burial in Keota cemetery. Survivors include his widow Edith Snyder Lambert, three children, two grandchildren and four sisters.

County voters to decide on $750000 hospital bonds
Washington County sets June 10 for a bond election to raise 750000 for a new 60 bed county hospital on current grounds. If approved, the county tax would rise about 7.7 cents on farm land and roughly 1.60 to 3.34 dollars annually per resident depending on location and home value.
