Dunlap Iowa May 5 a farmer William Thompson aged fifty and his twelve year old son were killed instantly when a carriage they rode in on the depot platform track was struck by Northwestern fast mail No 15. The carriage was demolished and both victims suffered broken necks with other injuries. An inquest was ordered and trainmen were summoned. Thompson leaves a widow and two grown children.
