Five members of Lee Alberti's family and their housemaid died from a gas leak at their Council Bluffs residence. The kitchen range jet was only partially opened, and the coroner confirmed the deaths resulted from the gas exposure after Alberti failed to report for work at the State Savings Bank.

Edward Seabery Dies After Hospital Stay
Edward Seabery a longtime West Chester resident died at Washington County Hospital after an illness dating to last fall. Funeral services planned at West Chester Baptist Church with details pending word from four sons living in Saskatchewan, Pease, Scott, Montgomery, and Sunbury. Seabery born July 2 1848 in Gallipolis Ohio and helped build the Rock Island Railway to Washington. He married Joanna Alvin in 1878 and lived on a farm before moving to West Chester. He was a faithful church member.
