Boy 15 Killed in Auto Bicycle Crash
Wesley Sterling Lease, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester L. Lease of Wesley, died after a car struck his bicycle west of town. Richard Youngwirth, 26, eyed as driver, was behind the riders when blinding lights from a westbound car obscured him. Lease died en route to Algona hospital. he was a Wesley High freshman. Sterling’s survivors include his parents and brother Loren, 11. A coroner jury ruled the accident unavoidable.

Elmer Bush Dies After Stroke in Iowa City
Elmer Bush a lifelong Washington county resident died in Mercy hospital Iowa City after a brief illness at age 61. He lived on farms near Washington Kalona and Cedar English River townships and was known as Bushs corner nine miles north of town. He married Mary Mason in 1919 and survived by his daughter Mrs Lester Chorpening and his mother Ida Bush. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 39 at L A Jones funeral home with burial at Elm Grove cemetery.
