In Buffalo Iowa this morning about 5 o clock the body of a 35 year old man was found mutilated on the GC R I and P tracks in front of a store. A companion says both men are brick masons traveling from Davenport to Muscatine for work. The wheels split the man in two and the body was turned over for an inquest scheduled today.
A list details the young men set to compete for cadetships at West Point and Annapolis. It notes exam locations at the Harlan House in Mt. Pleasant on May 3, with candidates from Keokuk Burlington Danville Fairfield Washington and other towns. Names already signaled include R Less Jr W D Wilson J Monroe and others.
The Board of Supervisors is in session this week handling unfinished matters from the prior meeting and addressing some special business items.

He departed for Fairfield instead of giving the customary two weeks notice, leaving the company short staffed and glad for his departure.
