Letter Found On German Prisoner Soldier’s New Year Note
Mrs. Paul Burch of Fort Dodge received a liberated letter from her husband Phc Paul Burch of a tank unit in Germany. He wrote the New Year message as enemy counter strokes began and left the letter and his wallet on the ground before joining the action. A batch of German infantrymen was captured March 21 and the letter was found among papers taken from a Nazi soldier.
