Miss Marie Nelson, a Fort Dodge nurse, was awarded $5000 Thursday in a suit against Mr. and Mrs. C. 8. Smeltzer after a fall in the Smeltzer home. She testified the polished floor and small rug caused a permanent crippling injury.
Wilfred Sorenson 25 of Hardy, a University of Iowa student, died from injuries after being crushed between two automobiles Thursday in Iowa City. Sorenson had been hospitalized since the incident.
Mills county grand jury will start hearings Monday into the Edith Kuhl murder in Pacific Junction. The coroner's jury had recommended holding Edith’s great uncle Clarence Price for the crime.
A bill by Representatives Dreessen and Kring to license butter makers and regulate dairy plants was recommended for indefinite postponement by the house dairy and food committee on Thursday.

Crawfordsville March 30 Secretary of the school board RE Ferguson found in the school safety depot box a liberty bond from 1918 purchased by the high school and faculty.
