Horton Veteran Remembered In Local War Hero Tale
Washington world war veteran Horton served with local soldiers of Company K 168th Infantry in France. On June 16 1918 near Lorraine Horton helped carry wounded comrade Cahill after a German sniper ambush, was wounded in the action, and his unit recovers his body aftermath was later noted in the unit history by Lt. John H. Taber.
