Kepharts Injured In Weekend Car Crash Near Keota
Mr and Mrs Rodney Kephart suffered non life threatening injuries when their Chevrolet sedan struck a slippery pavement on Highway two miles west of the Keota corner. They were returning from Osceola and about 10 30 p m when the crash occurred. The car rolled several times and was nearly wrecked. Both injured were treated at home for bruises and cuts including an eight stitch forehead wound.

Mrs. Stevenson Called by Death in Washington County
Mrs. W. T. Stevenson died at 10 15 this morning at 303 West Madison Street after a lengthy illness. Funeral services are set for 1 30 Thursday at Sherman's Funeral Home, with burial in Keota cemetery after brief services for local friends. Surviving are son J T Stevenson and three daughters, six grandchildren, one great grandchild, and one sister. She was ubin born November 12 1859 in Komoko Indiana and moved to Washington County as a child.

Washington High Debaters Win Six in Iowa Nine Tourney
Washington high school debaters won six of twelve debates at the Iowa Nine tournament in Iowa City, finishing fourth in team standings. Davenport schools won all twelve debates they entered, Ottumwa and Muscatine placed second and third by points. Phyllis Flenner and Helen Poster led the Washington negative team with five and six debates respectively, while four alternates also participated.
