County Treasurer Marion George sold 272 6oe dollars of Washington county primary road refunding bonds to the W D Hanna Company of Burlington via Oral Larkin Premium at a 3.75 percent rate. The new bonds replace 200,000 at 5 percent and 72,000 at 4.5 percent, saving the county 8,946 in annual interest. Eight bidders competed. others included Thrall West of Minneapolis Glaspeel Vieth & Duncan Davenport Blythe Co Chicago, Wheelock & Co Des Moines Iowa Des Moines National Bank Halsey & Stewart and Jackley & Co.

Funeral for Marylin Shoemaker Held in Davenport
Funeral services were conducted in Davenport yesterday for six year old Marylin Shoemaker daughter of Mr and Mrs C W Shoemaker former Washington residents. Aunt Mrs Pred Burger had been resting there and died after illness. Relatives Murger Mabel and Donald visited Davenport for the funeral and Mr and Mrs Clyde Tucker of Washington attended as cousins. Marylin suffered meningitis and died Saturday morning. She would have been seven on February 17.
