Three Die After Iowa Car Skids Into Bridge Abutment
Three people died when an automobile skidded on slippery pavement four miles south of Independence Iowa and struck a concrete bridge abutment. Victims included Mrs. Russell Bergeson 23 of Bode Mrs Ed Bergeson about 65 of Fenton and Henry Bergeson 24 of Fenton. Truck Slips on Court Hill Crashes At Federal Building
A Des Moines truck ran out of control on steep Court hill, spilling household furnishings, corn, chickens and other goods onto Walks and the federal building yard. Driver Doug Douglas and passenger Robert Groat were injured. Groat was unconscious with undetermined injuries. The load was being brought from Des Moines and a parked car owned by mail carrier Ben H. Osterberg was struck as the truck overturned.
