A 10 year old boy in Burlington confessed to staging a holdup at his home to steal 12 dollars. his siblings were found bound and gagged by two roommates. Police questioned him over discrepancies in the tale while Assistant Police Chief Joe Baird said a decision on action would be made after today.
Des Moines reports Iowa AAA committee estimates tenthousand farms may qualify for wheat production voting on May refer endum. At most 15900 eligible voters predicted from 114 votes per wheat producing farm, reflecting landlord and tenant both voting on renters farms.
The Iowa State College concert band of 79 members will depart Ames Tuesday for its sixth annual spring tour covering 1500 miles through Arkansas Kansas Missouri and southeastern Iowa. It will perform 19 concerts in a week including up to four shows in one day with self supported revenues covering expenses. A high point is the bi state music festival at Fort Smith Arkansas on March 22 attended by bands from Arkansas and Oklahoma.

Funeral services for Mrs. A. B. Schmoeller were held Saturday at L. A. Jones Funeral Home and Presbyterian Church. The service drew many friends, with floral tributes and attendance by the Women’s Relief Corps and Pythian Sisters. Burial followed in Elm Grove Cemetery with pallbearers named.

Ottawa Ill March 17 The national corn husking championships will be held in LaSalle county Ill next fall. About fifty athletes in overalls will compete for the corn country’s greatest sports honor. The 1940 champions were near Davenport with Irvin Baumin of Woodford County Ill the winner.
Dr F G Livesay of Washington pleaded not guilty to practicing medicine without a state license at a hearing before Justice W S Eldridge. He was bound over for inquiry by the district court grand jury with a $100 bond furnished by Livesay. Information was filed by Herman B Carlson and served by Constable Ben Coppock.
