Former Iowa Governor Nelson Kraschel Dies at 67
Nelson Kraschel, governor from 1937 to 1939 and lieutenant governor 1933 to 1937, died at his Harlan home Friday night after years of illness. A prominent livestock auctioneer, he returned to auctioneering after leaving office and once traveled to Macon Iowa for elocution lessons. He helped form a notable 1932 campaign trio with Louis Murphy and Clyde Herring.
