Four Iowans Die In Weekend Highway Mishaps
United Press reports four Iowa residents died on state highways during the weekend. Two crashes occurred on highway 150 ten miles north of Independence killing Kenneth King and Hazelton Ja William Sughre. two other occupants were injured. Francis Olson 28 of Wataga Illinois and Mathew Webber 19 of Monticello Iowa died from injuries in a semitruck collision on highway 30 seven miles west of Cedar Rapids Saturday night.

Truck and Car Crash on Highway 218 East of Riverside
Donald William Swails of Ainsworth and John Howard Wingler of Riverside were in a collision on Highway 218 just east of Riverside near the English River bridge. Swails said the truck swerved while he attempted to pass, the truck overturned into a ditch, causing $300 damage to the truck and slight damage to Swails’s car. No injuries were reported.

Youth Arrested In Rifle Threat To Take Girl On Drive

Edison Womack, a 32 year old life term inmate from Kern and Sacramento counties, allegedly escaped Folsom yesterday by leaving a dummy with his hair in his cell to simulate confinement.
