Gene P. Waddell of Blue Grass Iowa pleads guilty to possession of burglar tools in a break in at Arco Chemical Company near Fremont. Sentencing set for April 3. Co-defendant Robert Lee Morris of Muscatine was also involved. stolen farm chemicals valued at about 17000 dollars. Authorities tracked the suspects after a converted school bus carrying the loot was found south of Dublin.

Boy killed by cafeteria table in Villisca school
A three year old named John Wilson, son of Mr and Mrs Lowell Wilson, was killed instantly when a cafeteria table collapsed on him at Villisca public grammar school Monday night. He was playing in the cafeteria while his parents attended a club meeting in the building. The accident occurred at the school's cafeteria.
