Fire Kills Nine at Highland Hospital
A fire swept the Highland hospital for nervous diseases in Asheville killing nine women patients including the widow of novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald. Two others were critically injured and one sprained an ankle escaping. Mrs Fitzgerald had been a patient since November 2. Names of the dead were released by Dr. B Bennett.

Blood Bank Program Is Continued Here
On Thursday evening March 18 health unit staff and Red Cross volunteers will collect blood samples from donors for the Washington county transfusion service at the health unit office from 5 30 p m to 9 30 p m. The effort aims to reach more donors including club members and community volunteers to be typed and become potential donors for families and the community. Donors from several Washington organizations will be tested through the month as American Legion posts in Crawfordsville and Brighton sponsor the program and call other service groups to join.
