Services for 82 year old Methodist Bishop Thomas Nicholson will be held at the Mount Vernon church with Bishop Raymond J. Wade of Detroit officiating. Nicholson born in Canada earned Northwestern University degree and rose to bishop in Chicago in 1916. He led Detroit, chaired the Anti-Saloon League, led Dakota Wesleyan College, and taught Biblical literature at Cornell College before retiring to Mount Vernon in 1982.
