At Duplin county prison camp near Kenansville eleven black inmates died when a blaze engulfed the Wilmington road stockade early today. Sixty two inmates were housed. guards led to safety all but the 11 who perished and white inmates numbered 11 among those rescued. Fire origin traced to camp kitchen. guard Owen Baisben credited with saving 41 inmates, along with D. E. Nicholson.
