He welcomed Khrushchev’s agreement to open the March 14 Geneva disarmament conference at foreign ministers level and noted Gromyko would meet with Rusk and Home for preliminary talks before the opening. Khrushchev warned of renewed Soviet tests if the United States proceeds with atmospheric blasts, while France’s decision to skip the conference drew comment.

Washington man Doyle A. Gray dies at 34 in Iowa City
Doyle A. Gray 34 of Washington died this morning at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City after five months of illness. Funeral services are set for Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Sherman Eden Funeral Home with burial in Elm Grove Cemetery. Masonic services precede the funeral. Gray was married in 1949 to Dorothy Kauffman Magdefrau and leaves a widow, two sons, a brother, two sisters and both parents. He served in the Navy during World War II and worked as a salesman for Library Publishers Co. of Chicago.
