A fire at the Turney wagon works near the C R I & P depot destroyed the factory with its machinery and stock. Loss estimated from 70 000 to 100 000 dollars, fire company unable to stop the blaze, insurance partially covering the damage. one of the state’s largest wagon concerns burned.
A. W. Powelson, riding a Narrow Gauge train from Winfield, suffered severe smoke discomfort in a crowded coach at Crawfordsville. He exited for fresh air, but the car departed without him, taking his coat. He then walked 12 miles to Washington, a brisk feat for his age. Sister in law of Dr Burroughs Barried at New Haven Church today. Mrs Burroughs wife of Phineas Burroughs died at the family home near Dublin Thursday. De ceased was a respected old resident born in West Chester. Funeral held at 10 a m from New Haven church with interment in New Haven cemetery.
