Harold Kerr resigns as caretaker at Washington County Hospital to join his father in the painting business. The firm will be Howard Kerr & Company. Kerr studied painting at Dunwoody Institute and previously worked in Washington with his father before his 1942 hospital service and 26 months in the U S Navy in the Pacific.
Snow persists across eastern central and southern Iowa with 1 inch additional accumulation Sunday night. Temperatures fall with Readings 24 to 28 high today and 22 to 26 high tomorrow. In Jerusalem an explosion from a 400 pound barrel bomb outside the former municipality building in the Arab quarter killed 11 to 16 Arabs and injured 16 to 50.
