In Los Angeles UPI reports Bart Lytton once hailed as the decade’s most successful businessman died of a heart attack at 56. He was found in bed by his wife Beth. The flamboyant financier built a $500 million savings and loan empire before losing it.
U S air forces and South Vietnamese aircraft conducted about 90 strikes to support the surrounded garrison of 100 Americans and 450 South Vietnamese at Ben Het amid a 56 day siege. The Saigon command reported 284 North Vietnamese killed around Ben Het in 20 days as relief forces move toward the base and Highway 512 to reopen supply routes. Allied losses stood at 21 dead and 107 wounded.
The truth in lending act set to start July 1 covers loans up to 25 000 dollars and real estate even above that amount.
