Drowning at Red Haw Hill Park Claims Father of Five
Lewis a 45 year old Newton man and father of five drowned near Chariton when a boat overturned as he stood to cast. Three other Newton men fell in and were rescued by local rescuers. Clarence Sullivan and Lowrell Lake of Washington pleaded guilty to operating motor vehicles without valid licenses. Three Injured In Auto Crash On 218 Sunday
Three persons were hurt, none seriously, in a Sunday night automobile accident on primary road 218 a mile south of the junction with No 22 east of Riverside. William A. Brant of Burlington was driving the truck. his wife and Hazel Marie Brant, nine, were passengers. The crash occurred when the car went onto the muddy shoulder and into a ditch. the driver sustained a broken left shoulder and the others minor injuries. They were taken by a passerby to Crawfordsville.
