The Santa Fe Super Chief luxury passenger train derailed today in Winslow railroad yards. Several people were slightly injured after the eastbound train left the rails on a curve near the Winston roundhouse. Officials attributed the accident to a broken rail as the diesel engine rolled over.

Putnam Returns Two From Salt Lake City
Sheriff Putnam of Washington County returned from Salt Lake City Utah with two men wanted on false check charges. Iowa Girl Falls From Windmill
Wilda Kerr a 15 year old girl died from injuries after she fell from a 40 foot windmill on her family farm near Birmingham Iowa. Coroner Harold Catcott said she apparently climbed the structure and her mother found her at the foot of the windmill. She died at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield early today and her mother said she had never walked in her sleep before.
