In Oelwein Iowa Mrs Doc Medlock, injured in a train auto crash that killed her children Joseph nine and Mildred five, regained consciousness but did not believe her children were dead until she whispered I know my children re dead after mutterings of a dream.
Iowa City community players sponsor a Fourth of July pageant titled America Triumphant at City Park. Directed by Ruth Crayne with assistants Isom Rankin Dorothy Martin and Mary Lu Trundy. Reader Josephine Walsh soloist Julia Barber and pianist John Guy participate.
George W. Gilman, 61, of Council Bluffs, was injured after walking into a moving switch engine. Gilman said he failed to see the locomotive. Hospital attendants reported he will recover.
Benjamin Franklin Winslow, six, caught a 28 inch walleyed pike weighing about five pounds in the Shell Rock River near Winslow. He is the son of Mr and Mrs C N Winslow.

Davenport police hold Matt Garvey 3 S and his wife Rita 29 in connection with an investigation into alleged theft of potted plants and caretakers tools from Rose Hill cemetery in Buffalo.
A burglar entered the Independent Fruit company store over the weekend by climbing the elevator shaft after lifting a basement door. He removed a board from the shaft wall to gain access and took 55 dollars from a desk drawer before police were notified.

Representative E C Eicher of Iowa files a minority report against the Wheeler Rayburn utilities bill charging dangerous delegation of power and weak holding company regulation. The minority report follows a 15 to 7 committee vote. Simultaneously Rayburn submits the majority report urging passage as labor bill talks move toward final agreement after removing the freedom of the press amendment.
Layton Abernathy of Greene City, linked to a robbery gang, outdistanced Centerville Iowa police in a pursuit across Centerville and nearby Kirksville. He fled after being allowed to store his car, fired on by officers, and possibly wounded as he escaped.
A strike began at three o'clock this afternoon at the Hubinger Bros. company products plant in Keokuk. The plant employs about 800 to 400 workers, with around 800 expected to be affected by the walkout.

Ames Iowa June 25 a plan to channel as much as four million dollars in federal funds to Iowa for rural power line extensions was announced by Prof J Davidson Iowa State College. He outlined four funding avenues and urged timely state plans for rural electrification in Iowa.
Sheriff Harold M. Putnam announces a fresh batch of five thousand drivers' license application blanks arrive. They will be available at the same county sites as last week including the sheriff's office, county treasurer, M. L. Brown service station, Tucker & Eicher's garage, Cities Service station, Diamond oil stations on Wesr Washington street and North Iowa avenue, and Rath filling station east of Ainsworth.
Washington county taxpayers urged to pay the first installment of 1935 taxes by July 1 to avoid penalties. County Treasurer Marion B. George notes three months grace, with delinquency penalties starting at three percent and increasing each month. Many payments already arrive, including old age pension and poll taxes paid before July.
