The United States Army announced that its 150,400 man selected reserve has achieved combat readiness targets and will cut back drills from 72 to 58 per year starting July 1 1967. Units must have completed battalion level field training to qualify.

UPI The Air Force launched into polar orbit a 100 foot balloon satellite Pageos 1 designed to map the earth with high accuracy The 125 pound aluminum coated satellite was lofted atop a Thor Agena D rocket It orbits every three hours at about 2600 miles altitude traveling 13700 mph It will reflect sunlight to provide an orbiting light point photographed from earth for five years It will be as bright as Polaris and visible to the naked eye.
A four company U S construction consortium project near Saigon halted as hundreds of Vietnamese workers walked off demanding higher wages. The strike rose from 9 000 to 10 800 workers by day four, with about 600 off the $80 million port facility on the Saigon River and roughly 3 000 still on other American sponsored sites.
Washington County beefmen will gather Tuesday evening June 28 at the J W Evans farm two miles north of Crawfordsville for a 7 p.m. twilight meeting. Evans hosts a state wide feed test project with 10 041 cattle in 88 extension units and 102 feeder cattle weighed every 60 days.
