Tragic Drowning in Gravel Pit Near Rembrandt
Ten year old Francis Kac marynski of Storm Lake drowned in a gravel pit on the Glen Pressel farm two miles southeast of Rembrandt. He and his younger brother were visiting the Pressel family when the accident occurred as he sank in six feet of water. Efforts to revive him lasted two and a half hours using mouth to mouth resuscitation.

Davenport Parade Honors 63rd G A R Encampment Vets

Keota Man George H Holmes Dies At 65
George H Holmes of Keota died this morning in Keota at about 65 after a short illness from a heart attack. He was born in Keota and survived by his wife Jennie Wilson, daughter LaNor Turner, two grandchildren, and sister Mrs Willard Teeter. Funeral arrangements are pending with burial in Keota cemetery. He previously ran a family grocery, later partnered with Ram Dunshee, led the Beery store era, and managed a short filing station stint before health declined.
