Wayland couples Faye LaBoris Hirschy and Darrell Michael Schultz wed at Wayland Mennonite Church. Officiant Rev. Nick Kassebaum led the candlelit service as guests, family, and friends gathered from Indiana to Ames for the ceremony and reception. The bride, a UNI graduate and teacher, and the groom, a Mt. Pleasant worker, will live in Mt. Pleasant after a Wisconsin honeymoon.

Miss Maria Lynn Johnson and William G. Whipps were married at the United Methodist Church in West Chester in a 2 PM ceremony officiated by Revs. Higdon and Kaufman. The bride, attended by her sister and bridesmaids, wore a windsong gown with lace sleeves and Juliet cap, the groom in white tuxedo. The reception followed at the church parlor, with out of town guests and 125 attending. The couple will reside in Ames after a wedding trip to Colorado.
