Appeal Filed to High Court in Kaster Death Penalty Case
Attorney J. P. Murphy of Sumner said he would appeal to the supreme court in the Stanley M. Kaster case. Kaster was convicted by a district court jury for shooting Glenn R. Winchell, a guard at the Waverly utilities plant, during rounds on Sept. 26, 1943. Kaster is slated for execution on Dec. 29, 1944. He was captured after a nine day search near Clear Lake.
