You can get more meat at Stuart's for $1.00 than any place else for $1.25. The store boasts the largest line of smoked meats in the city with bacon, hams, salt fish, mackerel, red salmon, white fish and poultry. Also fresh vegetables and a full line of pickled and canned goods.
Fragmentary OCR shows train numbers 8 12 16 and 6 with times 10:00 a.m 2:33 a.m 7:55 p.m and 11:40 a.m. It lists Going East and a Des Moines area reference, suggesting a partial timetable or service notice.

Del Stewart W N Hlood I A Baugman and families. John P Reynolds departs for Morning Sun last evening with city friends to join his wedding day. Mrs John Palmer visits her mother in Crawfordsville.

Mrs Rev Brownell and four daughters from Keota travel with Rev Brownell en route to Nova Scotia.
Des Moines reports a June heat spell with nine days of temperatures 22 to 12 above normal and variable rainfall. Corn growth is rapid where culture is good but stands are below average. other crops including wheat oats barley and grasses fare fair to good. Potatoes show insect pressure with common pests more troublesome than usual.
The report lists numerous transfers including John L Riley to PL De Harpast for multiple lots near A Druf and Sheri tab Bb swift, and Norma Steadman to HW Romine. Other transfers include Albert Mulhearn to D Mather and a parcel from Conger to WW Mebarland, plus GOW Griffith to John M Wiley. Also a car load of cattle shipped to Chicago markets.
The four year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Sherman Benson near the city died today after scarlet fever afflicted the family. The child suffered heart trouble believed to be the cause. The private funeral will be held tomorrow at 10 a m from the residence with interment at Ainsworth cemetery.
Park grounds are being mowed today amid crowds nicknaming the area the Jungles of Washington. B Latchem forms a Woodmen of America lodge in West Chester with about twenty members to join that evening. America's renowned minister will lecture titled The Bright Side of Things on June 23 followed by a Grand Festival Concert with 400 to 500 singers. Special excursion trains run to Burlington with a round trip fare of $1.55 departing at 8:20 AM and returning 11:30 PM.
Residents in the west part of town discuss forming a new gun club to promote shooting sport. C. M. Stinson, who was summoned to Iowa City by his sister’s death, returns home this evening.
