The Washington Community School board will meet at 7 30 p m on June 23 in the district administration building board room on West Main Street. Action planned to authorize Don Zwicki to seek bids for bus tires oil and gasoline and to set salaries for summer maintenance staff. Also on agenda an audit by a private firm and a transportation cost summary for school activities.

Workshop on aging at YWCA in Washington
A free workshop on personal growth for those nearing retirement will be held Wednesday July 14 from 8 30 a m to noon in the McCleery Room at the YW YU YMCA Washington. Indict Adcock for tax evasion in Iowa case
Des Moines based former Iowa Liquor Control Commission chair Homer Adcock was indicted by a special grand jury on four counts of federal income tax evasion for 1970 and 1971 and for subscribing false returns. He faces additional perjury charges and could face up to 64 years in prison or fines if convicted. The case stems from alleged illegal liquor distribution before 1972 and follows prior charges of extortion. He has pleaded innocent and is free on bond as trial set for July 12.
