Plan Test Runs With New KCRG-TV Tower
KCRG-TV will begin testing its 1,085 foot tower with low power Sunday June 19. The station now transmits 33 000 watts and will increase to 50 000 watts during early tests. By week’s end an upgrade to 316 000 watts is expected. Engineers will move the transmitter to the new site on highway 150 and connect it with DuMont amplifiers. By 9 AM Sunday most of the move should be done and test patterns may start. Some interruptions and fluctuations are possible from 2:30 PM.
