Field Trials for Coon Dogs Held in Ottumwa
About 500 fans attended the Wapello County Coon Hunters association field trial in Ottumwa. Forty-two dogs competed with 23 in spend events. Paycheck owned by Carl Paris won first prize, Drum owned by James Carso took second, and Lead owned by Lankford and Hines finished first in the spec trials with Seraphon, also owned by Paris, second. A second field trial is planned for Ivy and discussions consider a two day state event Sept 2-4.

Five Washington Vacation Bible Schools Enroll 300 Pupils
More than 300 children attend five daily vacation Bible schools in Washington this week. The Methodist school reports 110 pupils, United Presbyterian 75, Baptist 55, Presbyterian 35, and Christian 64.
