Parallel terraces offer more efficient farming gains
Iowa State University agricul tural engineer Ted Willrich says parallel terraces improve erosion control and farming efficiency. They reduce short point rows and allow bigger equipment, with higher costs per foot but greater land protection. experiments show up to 12 percent fewer point rows and about 10 percent less operator time, plus straighter rows and faster machine speeds where applicable.
