Swedesburg Church Struck by Lightning
The Swedish Lutheran church at Sweedsburg in Henry county south of Crawfordaville was struck by lightning Saturday night and burned to the ground. Only a plane and a few books survived. the pipe organ and equipment were destroyed. Firemen could not save the building due to lack of equipment, except for a chemical wagon from Olds. Insurance on the building and contents was $20,000 and will partially cover the loss.
