Washington Journal carrier boys enjoy Cardinal-Giant game trip
Three Evening Journal carrier boys from Washington, Jim Cnossen Mike Gardner and Larry Blum joined photographer Bob Elliott for a St Louis baseball weekend. They toured the Busch Stadium outing included zoo visits and met Cardinal players. The trip began Saturday morning and ended Sunday night with the Cardinals winning on Curt Floods two run homer in the bottom of the ninth. The prize trip in a subscription contest drew strong excitement from the boys and their fans.

Winter rites set for Ethel C. Winter in Columbus
