Washington June 12 The senate postponed further consideration of the income tax amendment to the tariff bill after a heated debate sparked by Senator Bailey and backed by Cummins. Amendments reducing the rate to 2 percent and exemption up to 5000 were accepted, and a 59 to 8 vote refused to recommit the wool schedule to finance.
